Dr. James McLoughlin is a board certified (American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery) Orthopedic surgeon in Panama City, Florida and is affiliated with multiple hospitals in the area, including Bay Medical Center Sacred Heart Health System, Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center, and Panama City Surgery Center. He received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons and has been in practice for more than 20 years. Dr. McLoughlin served on active duty in the US Navy including time in the Persian Gulf during Operation Enduring Freedom on board the USNS Comfort hospital ship and as the director of the orthopedic surgical service for the US Navy in Newport, RI. His education is extensive having received a B.S. in Engineering from the USMMA, a Masters of Science in Engineering from M.I.T., Biology Pre Requisite from Harvard University, Chemistry Pre Requisite M.I.T., and after obtaining his MD from Columbia, he served his Internship and Residency at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, New York. Dr. McLoughlin received Fellowship Training from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, and a Maryland Spinal Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship in Towson, Maryland. A native New Yorker he joined Southern Orthopedic Specialists, P.A., in 2009 and recently set up a private practice in our area.
