LaPointe, Lisa, DMD

Dr. Lisa LaPointe (known as “Dr. Lisa” by children) was born and raised in Hopkinton, Massachusetts, a small town best known as the “start of the Boston Marathon”.  She received her Bachelors Degree in Communication Disorders and Minor in Psychology at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.  Dr. LaPointe joined the Commonwealth College Honors Program and spent her last two years of college studying cochlear implant surgery, technique, and patient perceptions while working alongside a renowned cochlear implant surgeon at UMASS Medical.  It was during this time that Dr. LaPointe realized that she wished to become a doctor.  To make this a reality, she pursued a premedical post-baccalaureate certificate at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth.

It was while Dr. LaPointe was attending her post-bacc program that she worked part-time as a dental assistant.  She quickly realized her passion for dentistry.  She received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  While attending dental school, Dr. LaPointe was the recipient of a scholarship award from the federal government and became a member of the National Health Service Corp.

While in dental school, she realized that she was the happiest when she was on rotation in the pediatric clinic and she decided to pursue specialty training in Pediatric Dentistry.  She was fortunate to be selected to attend the University of Florida to earn her Certificate of Specialty Training in Pediatric Dentistry.  She then furthered her training and become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.  Dr. LaPointe has spent the last five years providing care to the underserved.  As a member of the National Heath Service Corp, she has worked as a pediatric dentist in Texas, Wisconsin, and throughout Florida to provide pediatric dental care to children in need.

Dr. LaPointe is joined by her fiancé, David.  They are excited to be part of the North Florida and Bay county communities!  In her free time, you will find Dr. LaPointe spending time with her family, visiting the beach, and practicing yoga and pilates.
