Dr. Doug Fujawa was raised in the small town of Schoolcraft, Michigan. He then went on to earn his Bachelors Degree in Biology from Hope College, located in Holland, Michigan.  While in high school and college, Dr. Doug devoted much of his time mentoring and advocating for children and adults with special healthcare needs. It was through these interactions that Dr. Doug understood he wished to make this population the focus of his career. He then attended the University of Michigan where he obtained his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.  Following dental school, Dr. Doug remained at the University of Michigan to complete a two-and-a-half-year residency in pediatric dentistry.  Upon completion of residency, Dr. Doug also earned a Master of Science Degree in Pediatric Dentistry for his research relating to restorative materials used in pediatric dentistry.  Following residency, Dr. Doug was recruited to stay at the residency program as an Attending Pediatric Dentist at Mott Children’s Health Center in Flint, Michigan caring for children in need. Dr. Doug recently completed the qualifications necessary to become Board Certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

After many years of visiting his parents on the Emerald Coast, Dr. Doug and his wife fell in love with the area and decided to have their wedding on the sugar sand of Alys Beach and then finally to make their home in the Florida Panhandle permanently. Dr Doug relocated from snowy Michigan with his wife Lindsay, also a pediatric dentist, and their French Bulldog Alys. When he isn’t at the office, Dr. Doug enjoys golfing, traveling, and cheering on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. They are very excited to set their roots in such a warm and welcoming community. Dr. Doug looks forward to helping your child learn to have fun while visiting the dentist.
